Kathrine Switzer

Kathrine was the first female to run the Boston Marathon. In 1967, she completed the run in 4 hours and 20 minutes. The man you see trying to stop her from running, is Jock Semple, who tried to rip off her runner number when he noticed that she was a woman. She would go on to place first in the women’s category of the 1974 New York City Marathon (59th Overall) with a time of 3:07:29.
