Iyenger started learning yoga from the young age of 15 and even started teaching after just 3 years of learning and practicing the art. With his wide expertise in the field, Iyenger wrote a total number of 14 books on Yoga.
Iyenger had Kidney Problems
According to the New York Times, it was stated that prior to his death he suffered from Kidney problems. Iyenger was 95 years old when he left the world for his heavenly abode. It was also stated that Iyenger had got inclined towards Yoga to improve his health hat was deteriorated by typhoid, malaria and tuberculosis during his youth days.

In the year 2014, Iyenger was named as one of the most influential people in the world by TIME magazine and was among top 100. His book “Light on Yoga” has been translated into 18 different languages

Sadly, his wife passed away in the year 1973. He has always referred to his wife as,” my philosopher, my partner, my guide.” He had also begun to train his wife in yoga so that she could he his personal advisor.
